With its undulating countryside, amazing beaches and beautiful skies, the Shotley peninsula is a magnet for photographers of all abilities.

Nub News is today delighted to showcase the work of local photographers Julie Deer who we believe has captured some amazing pictures from around the peninsula.

A Suffolk girl through and through, it was a chance picture taken on her iPhone that inspired Julie to capture the images around her.

An operational administrator for the past 10 years working on the peninsula, Julie moved closer to her work a year ago.

She said: "I've always enjoyed taking photos and getting out and being able to share my images with others - we have some lovely areas on our doorstep and it's great to share photos of them.

"The sunrise photo was taken a few years ago. I was on my way into work and just happened to be in the right place at the right time and was taken on my iPhone. After getting some lovely comments about this image I decided to purchase a Canon DSLR camera."

Like all photographers being in the right place at the right time has helped Julie capture some wonderful images of birds, flowers and super scenery.

"The robin photo was also taken at Alton Water during the first lock-down last year." said Julie. "I'd been told about this cheeky Robin. This particular day I had stopped to chat to someone and it appeared on the fence next to me and I took with with my camera."

Our system only allows 10 pictures per article, so we have compiled a section from Julie which we are sure you will enjoy.

To see all 10, scroll right on the top photograph and enjoy.
