Families fearing scary childcare costs this Halloween half-term are being given a helping hand by Babergh with a range of holiday activities to keep youngsters active and entertained.

From holiday camps to dance classes, football matches to arts and crafts, there's something for every child to enjoy, with activities running from Monday, 23 October to Friday, 27 October.

The programme includes activities for children of all ages, as well as offering days out for the whole family, such as cooking classes in the park and swim sessions.

Thanks to funding from Babergh there are free places on the October half term activities programme available to youngsters who receive free school meals or those otherwise in need, and these can be booked directly through the activity providers. However, everyone can benefit from subsidised sessions – again booked directly with the organisers.

Cllr Deborah Saw, cabinet member for people and place at Babergh District Council, said: "Providing half term events like these are so important to support the wellbeing of children and their parents at what is a stressful time for so many families.

"I would like to thank the fantastic activity providers for partnering with us once again and helping us to make these events fun and engaging while easing pressure on families."

Find full details of all the activities available, and how to book, on Babergh District Council's websites.
