Holbrook Academy are staying tight-lipped after a Covid-19 case was confirmed at Holbrook Academy.

Parents have been unable to find out more information after a student in the lower age groups at the school tested positive during the half-term and has remained in self-isolation.

Nub News contacted the Academy's headteacher Tom Maltby for comment and as yet has had no response.

Three different parents told Nub News they did not know if the child concerned was symptomatic before school broke up, which year the pupil was in, and if their child was now affected but not yet showing symptoms.

In an email to parents the school said as the child was tested positive outside of school time and as they had not returned to school as yet, there was no need for further action.

Some members of staff have not returned to the Holbrook school as they are shielding, while the school has made special provision for at least two households to provide their children with operate lockers.

All staff and chidden are expectant to wear face coverings from now on when they move around the school, while children are no longer permitted to change after PE.

The Academy has closed the Holbrook Sports Centre to the public and is ending its contract with Abbeycroft Leisure which used to mange the centre.
