A brave the shave fund-raiser topped her £1,000 target after her hair was cropped during a cake sale.

Patricia 'Wish' Watkins staged the event to raise money for MacMillan Cancer Research after witnessing her boyfriend Adam's mum Val lose her hair due to cancer treatment.

Good friend Tiffany Sims did the careful cutting, even saving a plaited pony tail for children charity the Princess Trust, that makes hair pieces for youngster who have lost their loss due to illness.

Dozens of people were at the White Horse to tuck into cake, including one specially baked by barmaid Charlie Rowland, and with those donations added to Wish's JustGiving page, today's total is past £1,000.
