Customers have been welcomed back at the new look Shipwreck.

The bar has been extended at the Shotley marina-based hostelry, with a refitted look keeping in fitting with the maritime experience.

New coffee machines have been added following customer feedback with many visitors enjoying a new after a walk along the stunning Shotley peninsula foreshore.

The month-long closure has seen the bar reshaped and boasting a stylish wooden front.

The family area now has a darts board and there are a number of games to be enjoyed by all.

The bar is open until 5.30pm today (Sunday) with food served until 2.30pm.

Staff currently enjoy Mondays and Tuesdays off, but the Shipwreck reopens on Wednesday and Thursday for breakfast between 10am and 11.30am, then lunch from 12noon until 2.30pm and dinner from 6pm - 7pm, with the bar open until 8pm

Friday and Saturday hours are; breakfast between 10am and 11.30am, then lunch from 12noon until 2.30pm and dinner from 6pm - 8pm, with the bar open until 9pm.
