Hundreds, if not thousands, of people on the peninsula united to clap for our carers tonight.

People stepped out of the comfort of their own homes to clap, beep horns, bash pots and pans and cheered as part of a national #clapforourcarers campaign.

Some admitted they shed a tear at the level of support for all ur NHS staff, domiciliary workers, carers in homes and those who are full time looking after family members.

Many took to social media afterwards to express their pride as their friends and neighbours kept a sensible social distance, but stood united in solidarity.

Nub News witnessed the scenes in Shotley Gate and received reports that many took part in Holbrook, Brantham and Chelmondiston. Let us know if you did in your village, or hamlet.

Send us your photos and we will publish them here. [email protected]

Also, listen to the song of solidarity 'You'll Never Walk Alone', and try and play it at 07.45 every morning.
