Plans have been revealed to build a futuristic style extension on a former farm worker's cottage in an area of outstanding natural beauty.

Owners of Hill House Cottage at the bottom of Wades Lane in Shotley want to erect a part two storey, part single extensions on the back of number one, after knocking down an outbuilding.

It is proposed that the extension of the cottage, will be finished with colour coated aluminium, standing seam sheet metal, black pantile and red brick.

The semi-detached cottage can be seen easily from many directions within the AONB and is yards (metres) from public footpaths, including the river walk along the bank of the Orwell.

The application has been made by Kathryn Blake, with Mark Wrinch registered as the owner.

No pre-application advice from planning officers has been sought.

Consultation comments are due to be made to Babergh planning officers by Thursday, March 24 and the application can be found on the website here: reference DC/22/01059 *Scroll right on top picture for more images
