Police have charged a 27-year-old woman from Chelmondiston with two offences after a car she was allegedly driving crashed into a hedge on the main Shotley road.

Police were called to a road traffic collision at 3am this morning (13 April) after a black Seat Ibiza collided with a hedge and found the driver with no apparent serious injuries.

A woman was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and on suspicion of being in possession of cannabis and taken to Marltesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

Shona Craze of Woodlands, Chelmondiston was subsequently charged with the two offences and is due to appear before Ipswich Magistrates' Court on 14 May at 10am.

The Seat car was today still in the hedge taped off by police.

Suffolk police can be contacted on 101 or in an emergency 99, or crimes can be reported on their website.
