Role Overview:

Do you have a passion for safeguarding digital assets and mitigating cyber threats? Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Cyber Security Analyst to join our team based near Ipswich. With a minimum of two years' experience in Cyber Security and at least five years in IT roles, you'll play a crucial part in enhancing our organization's security posture.

Responsibilities:

Produce a Cyber Security Recommendations proposal to the business (Interim report - within 8 weeks of starting the role). Line Manage of 1 Cyber Security Analyst. Provide technical support to the IT Support Team and Development Team. Provide onsite and remote support in relation to IT / Information Security and Cyber Security tasks, events incidents across all businesses, enabled by a ticketing system, within set SLA times and business priority. Completing allocated tasks and project work to a high standard. Conduct thorough cyber security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and threats.

Develop and implement robust security measures and protocols to fortify our systems and data. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Stay ahead of emerging cyber threats and technologies, proactively implementing measures to mitigate risks. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Qualifications:

CISPP certified or equivalent (E) or be willing to study towards within 12 month in role.

Evidence of continuing professional development (E)

GNVQ/NVQ Level 2 qualification or equivalent or

6 GCSE/O level passes Grade 9-4 (A -C) or equivalent, including English and Math

Recognized ICT qualifications (D):

CompTIA A+

CompTIA Security+

MCSE: Server Infrastructure

MCSE: Desktop Infrastructure

MCSA: Windows 7/8/10

Full UK Driving License (E)

Ability to pass DBS Checks (E)

Experience & Knowledge:

Minimum of two years' experience in Cyber Security, with a solid foundation of at least five years in IT roles.

Minimum three-years post qualifying experience.

Proficiency in conducting security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability management.

Strong understanding of cyber security frameworks, standards, and best practices.

Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively conveying technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

Possession of a valid driving license and access to a vehicle for occasional travel to other sites.

Additional Information:

Skills:

Mastery of security tools and technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, antivirus software, SIEM solutions, and vulnerability assessment tools. Knowledge of networking protocols, operating systems, and cloud platforms. In-depth understanding of cyber security principles, practices, and methodologies.

Experience with threat intelligence analysis, malware analysis, and incident response procedures. Familiarity with security frameworks and standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, and GDPR. Ability to assess and prioritize security risks based on their potential impact and likelihood.

Experience in conducting risk assessments, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing. Proficiency in developing risk mitigation strategies and implementing controls to mitigate identified risks. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex security issues. Ability to think critically and make sound decisions under pressure.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Experience in leading and mentoring junior security analysts or team members. Ability to provide guidance, support, and direction in security-related initiatives and projects. Commitment to staying updated with the latest trends, technologies, and threats in the cyber security landscape. Willingness to adapt to evolving security challenges and embrace new methodologies and tools. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including IT, development, compliance, and legal departments.

Adherence to ethical standards and a commitment to upholding the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive information. Thoroughness and attention to detail in analysing security logs, investigating incidents, and documenting findings. Ability to identify subtle indicators of potential security threats and anomalies.
