Suffolk Chamber of Commerce is calling for Shotley peninsula businesses to sign its pledge, committing to support better gender equality in the workplace, ahead of International Women's Day next Monday.

The Pledge, which already has already been signed by more than 30 businesses including East of England Co-op, Kier, and Associated British Ports, calls for businesses to examine the gender balance within their workplaces and to actively support the removal of barriers faced by employees at major points of career development and life changes.

On yer bike with the Normans - Gregory and Kelly

A new campaign from Love To Ride Suffolk, supported by Suffolk County Council Highways and the Most Active County Partnership, launches this month to encourage residents on the Shotley peninsula to join Norman and get out on their bikes.

World War II veteran Norman Gregory and his good friend Norman Kelly, better known as the "Cockfield Normans" are avid cyclists doing at least 10 miles most days and will be leading the way with "Ride it Out".
