Prime Minster Boris Johnson announced that nearly all legal social distancing measures in England will be lifted on Monday, 19 July as the country moves to the final stages of Covid easing.
The announcement comes as a number of people on the peninsula are self isolating after either being tested positive, or being pinged by the NHS, saying they had been in close contact with an infected person.

A survey has shown parishioners in a peninsula village back the introduction of a new community shop.
Following a survey initially conducted in 2018 which showed a strong desire for a village shop, Tattingstone parish council put together a feasibility study about opening a shop, although not location has yet been agreed.

Motorists trying to get through Brantham on the main A137 road suffered lengthy delays after a lorry struck the level crossing barrier near Manningtree railway station, this afternoon.
Cars were backed up nearly three miles at Brantham Hill on the Suffolk side of the crossing as Network Rail engineers closed the road off either side of the crossing, to make the area safe.
Players and staff at a peninsula football club have taken part in a life-saving course, after an incident with Denmark's Christian Eriksson brought the need into sharp focus.
Woolverstone United had already booked the course before Eriksson's life was saved by the quick actions and availability of a defibrillator after he suffered a cardiac arrest on the pitch in the Dane's first game in the Euros.

Marine Police now have a jetski to tackle anti-social behaviour on the waters off the Shotley peninsula coastline.
The fast and agile jetski - correctly called a personal water craft (PWC) is thought to be the only such piece of equipment currently available to any police force in the country.
