Bids in for hoped for better peninsula bus service

A £50 million bid to transform bus services in Suffolk, including those serving the Shotley peninsula, has been backed by county councillors.

Wider coverage, cheaper fares, improved ticketing, and better evening and weekend services are among proposals under the Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP) approved by Suffolk County Council's Cabinet today and which will now be submitted to the Government by the end of the month.

Frustrated East Bergholt youth chairman and former Brantham coach Lee Partridge

A youth football chairman and coach has spoken of his frustration at feeling fobbed off by Suffolk FA after he raised concerns over financial safeguarding at grassroots level.

Lee Partridge, chairman at East Bergholt youth football club, and Ollie Langham, a coach with Ipswich Exiles, met with a couple of Suffolk FA officials in July to outline a number of proposals brought about after finding issues at a former club he coached, and other problems aired by fellow grassroots clubs' officials.
