Staff at Spring Lodge care home, in Woolverston, are delighted to have received a certificate from the Lord Lieutenant for Suffolk praising their "selflessness" and "sense of duty" during the pandemic.

In an accompanying letter to home manager Jose Simoes, the Lord Lieutenant, Clare, Countess of Euston, writes: "I would like to thank you for the contribution you have made during the extraordinary and difficult circumstances of the Covid 19 crisis."

Fish and chip from the Lasan Takeaway

A call to support our takeaways on the peninsula has been made following a move by another chip van to operate in Shotley.

The mobile fish and chip van, which is part of a franchise operation based in Colchester, has announced it plans to start a weekly visit to the Shotley peninsula, and has advertised its first visit to a housing estate, which is already well served by food outlets.
