Staff at Spring Lodge care home, in Woolverstone, demonstrated their culinary skills in a celebration of World Food Day.

The home's cosmopolitan mix of staff tempted residents with dishes from around the world.

Venessa Pereira brought along Brigadeiro, a delicious Brazilian dessert made with chocolate fudge balls while fellow support worker, Maria Chiriches, made Zacusca, a traditional vegetable stew with mushrooms from Romania.

The home's wellbeing coordinator, Aimee Davey, who made vegan brownies for the occasion, said: "We have a wonderful mix of nationalities in our staff team and we thought that hosting an international food festival would be a great way to celebrate World Food Day."

Residents and staff enjoyed tasting all the dishes – including deep fried Mars Bars from Scotland, the creation of head chef Andy Gray.
